This presentation will focus on tools that can help leaders execute the mission, vision, goals and core values of the organizations. Learn how tools such as: alignment processes, building internal capacity and support, SMART goals, action plans, balanced score card, stakeholder outcomes, quality levels and deployment instruments can focus efforts on accomplishing the strategic plan of the organization.
American Society for Quality (ASQ): National Quality in Education Conference (November, 2006). PowerPoint Presentation & Supporting Worksheets. The Cedar Rapids Community School District utilizes the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as a framework for continuous improvement. Presenters will provide an overview of the Baldrige criteria and their effective application in all aspects of a diverse, urban school district.A key element of the criteria is a focus on alignment. Participants in the session will learn how to develop a strategic plan on a page (Vision, Mission, Core Values, Goals and Guiding Philosophy) and align initiatives and resources to that plan. Members of schools, departments, and classrooms will learn of key questions to align individual and department goals to the District Strategic Plan. Participants will consider the vital elements of alignment including:
§ School Improvement Plan goals aligned to the District Strategic Plan
§ Classroom goals aligned to School Improvement goals
§ Individual student goals aligned to the classroom goals
